Lauren Russell
Meet Lauren – Piano, Voice, and Intro to Music
Lauren is a lifelong musician and a second-generation teacher who knew from an early age she was called to teach music. By day, she inspires children as an elementary school music teacher, and she brings that same passion into her private lessons at Thrive.
With years of experience teaching piano, voice, drama, and introductory music, Lauren has a special gift for shaping beginners and encouraging adults who are returning to music. She takes a more traditional approach to lessons, guiding students with the trusted Faber Method while still making learning fun and approachable.
For Lauren, music is more than a subject—it’s a lifelong skill and a source of joy she loves passing on to every student she teaches.

Osel Rodriguez
Meet Osel – Piano, Guitar, and Bass
Osel is an accomplished faith-based musician and educator right here in Apopka, FL. With a bachelor’s degree in Bass Performance, he has spent years teaching students of all ages while actively performing—playing bass on tour and electric guitar at local churches.Known for his ability to craft custom lesson plans around each student’s interests, Osel helps learners stay motivated and discover their unique musical voice. He is passionate about pouring into the next generation of musicians, blending professional expertise with a heart for mentorship.
Fun fact: When he’s not making music, Osel is a double black belt in two different martial arts!

No problem! We’ll guide you through choosing the right instrument for your budget and needs. Our teachers also help you set it up properly so your student starts on the right foot.

We start private lessons at age 5. For younger students, we offer group “Intro to Music” classes designed to help them explore rhythm, melody, and instruments in a fun, age-appropriate way.

Lessons are month-to-month, cancel anytime. We don’t believe in strict contracts—music should fit your life, not the other way around.

We ask for at least 12 hours’ notice so we can respect our teachers’ time. If you can’t make a lesson, we’ll do our best to reschedule. If that’s not possible, your credit is saved until you’re ready to use it.

We offer 30, 45, and 60-minute lessons based on age, goals, and experience level.
30 minutes: $34 per lesson or $138 per month
45 minutes: $46 per lesson
(Ask us about 60-minute lessons if your student is advanced or preparing for performances.)

Nope—no registration fees, no surprises. The only optional extra cost is a small venue fee if your student participates in a recital.

Yes! We host 2–3 major recitals each year based on student and parent interest. These events give students a chance to shine and celebrate their progress.

Lessons are held at Thrive Church Apopka: 951 N Park Ave, Apopka, FL 32712. It’s a safe, convenient, family-friendly location with plenty of parking.

We teach students of all ages—kids, teens, and adults. Adults often enjoy digging into the mechanics of music, but if that’s not your thing, no worries. We’ll focus on the practicals and get you playing the songs you actually want to play, fast.
